Every Monday, in our community space.
The Drop In is open to all male survivors, who are either engaged in our service or may want to see what we are about and the support we can offer. We have an understanding that for male survivors seeking support is a huge step and can sometimes take several attempts, and that is ok, you engage when you are ready, just know it was never your fault.
Why was the Drop In created?
The Drop In the was created, as a response to the wishes of male survivors who wanted an informal way of connecting with others; the space is for survivors who are 18+, it is relaxed, tea and coffee on the go, and friendly faces all around who all just want to feel ok.
What happens at the Drop In?
The Drop In is facilitated by the community development team, and volunteers. The kettle is always on, and the conversation is always flowing, it isn’t always about survivorship, sometimes it could be what is on the news, our other activities, life, work or the weather (we are mancunian after all) we create a safe space, so you are not alone. You can stay for the whole session or simply just pop in, whatever way you choose to ‘Drop-In’, know that this is your safe space to just be and if you do want to talk to any of our team then someone is always on hand.
Do I have to let you know I am attending?
No, we hold the drop in every Monday afternoon, the only time it isn’t on are on Bank Holiday Mondays. You can simply turn up.
Attending for the first time?
We are aware that walking through the door for the first time can be nerve wracking, worry not, you can always call the office on 0161 236 2182 and someone from the We Are Survivors team can meet you or accompany you taking that first step. This isn’t about hand holding, just knowing you don’t have to do this alone.
